Founded in 1926, KIDH has evolved from a tuberculosis sanatorium into a leading national referral hospital for infectious diseases. Since 2006, the Ministry of Health has entrusted KIDH with managing multi-drug resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB). Currently, the hospital provides comprehensive services for TB, TB/HIV co-infection, MDR-TB, HIV, and other infectious and non-communicable diseases. With a capacity of 300 beds and a dedicated team of over 300 skilled professionals, KIDH is committed to delivering high-quality care while also advancing training, surveillance, and research efforts. Through strong partnerships with national, regional, and international partners, KIDH remains focused on improving health outcomes and enhancing preparedness for infectious disease challenges.
